Arsenal is extremely keen to sign Jeremy Monga from Leicester City in this upcoming summer transfer window according to reports. The 16-year-old cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 in July. The gunners are urgently hoping to fight off any other competition for the teenager from the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
With Leicester already struggling with financial problems and facing an inevitable relegation from the EFL Championship to EFL League One, a move for Monga seems more likely than not especially as he’s seen as their prized asset.
Monga is an explosive player. His pace and directness are his strongest traits which are similar to Gabriel Martinelli’s when he was linked with Arsenal back in 2019. Monga is a fantastic dribbler who is extremely difficult to defend against in a one v one situation. He’s left-footed and enjoys cutting inside frequently and isn’t afraid of taking on shots.
The teenager has already made 25 appearances for the foxes in the league this season with his minutes totalling over the 800 mark. He’s managed three goal involvements and has an impressive passing accuracy of 84%. His potential was already on show briefly last campaign when he became the second youngest (now third) Premier League debutant ever in April 2025 against Newcastle United. He has also already scored four goals in just nine games for the England U16s resulting in him being called up for the U19s.
Arsenal is in desperate need of a fresh winger at the football club with players like Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both linked with moves away this summer. Monga would fit the system with his ability to progressively carry the ball effectively which is a trait Mikel Arteta loves. He is also viewed with a lot of potential meaning this signing could be an opportunity not only for Monga to boost his career but for Arsenal to make a substantial profit in the future.
No real transfer fee has been revealed yet. According to multiple sources, he is valued around £10-15 million but with him not signing a pro deal yet, he may just cost a compensation fee later down the line.
Monga is the first of many players Arsenal will look to sign this summer as the gunners hope to elevate their squad once again and start fighting for more titles.
